KESLA powerB – A New Level of Hydraulic Power Management for Harvesters

KESLA powerB is a hydraulic booster system based on an accumulator and real-time control logic, designed to enhance the instantaneous power of a harvester head—especially on low engine power and lightweight base machines. The system utilizes load variations in the hydraulic system by storing energy and utilizing it with millisecond level precision during periods of high power demand, such as sawing and feeding.

PowerB is connected directly to the harvester’s pressure line, where it functions both as an energy storage unit and a pressure management component. The system smooths pressure fluctuations in the hydraulic system and dampens harmful pressure spikes, improving overall system dynamics, load control, and durability. Precisely controlled charging and utilizing cycles enable the delivery of up to nearly 50 kW of instantaneous additional power during critical harvester head operations—without delays associated with the base machine’s hydraulic system.

KESLA powerB is part of the KESLA xTimber equipment range for excavator based harvesters and is also ideally suited for lightweight thinning harvesters with limited engine power and hydraulic capacity. PowerB enables higher productivity and work efficiency. By smoothing engine load, hourly fuel consumption is reduced, significantly improving fuel efficiency relative to output.

KESLA powerB is available for all KESLA harvester heads operated with KESLA proLOG, xLogger, or Dasa control systems.
