User-friendly harvester head makes forestry work safe and fast

Forestry contractor Ilpo Kosonen, from Parikkala (Finland), is one of Kesla’s long-term customers. In 2013, Ilpo learned about Kesla’s harvester head and the device has been a crucial part of the forestry contractor’s everyday life ever since. Today, Kesla’s general-purpose machine 25RH-II serves Ilpo in thinning, final felling and the processing of piled timber.

“In summer, I use an excavator to do my work in the Parikkala forests and when winter comes, my work duties involve thinning. I have used Kesla products for a long time. My most recent purchase was a KESLA 25RH-II harvester head. The harvester head is a very important tool because it helps me stay employed throughout winter. In addition to the harvester head, I also use Kesla’s Xtender boom that improves an excavator beam’s reach in forestry work”, Ilpo says.

Domestic products impress with their safety and security of supply

Since Kesla is a domestic operator, its products are a reliable and approachable option . The development of modern forest machines takes into account the customers’ actual needs which means making no compromises concerning quality or ergonomics. With a high-quality machine, both horizontal and vertical trees and timber can be picked up safely and quickly.

“The great thing about Kesla’s service is that the spare parts my machines need are available just 40 kilometres away from my home. I often go and pick up the spare parts myself and, if necessary, they are even available at the weekend. Kesla products emphasise ergonomics, which I consider to be very important. Thanks to the rotating cabin, I can always approach the work from the right angle,” Ilpo explains.

Comprehensive accessories selection has solutions for individual needs

The new harvester head has exceeded Ilpo’s expectations with its innovative KESLA proAX cutting system and Xtender boom which enable efficient work performance, even in challenging conditions. According to Ilpo, it is easy to rely on Kesla’s products and the smooth cooperation will continue to bear fruit.

“Cooperation with Kesla has been smooth since the beginning. I have previously used Kesla’s products, but the new harvester head has positively surprised me with its excellent features. The head has worked well in forestry work and I can get help from Kesla immediately if there is ever any issues. I recommend the Kesla harvester head to other entrepreneurs who use excavators and stay self-employed throughout the winter months,” Ilpo summarises.
