The KESLA 25RH-II models are versatile harvester heads for thinning and final felling where the trees’ average diameters are less than 40 cm. The head’s maximum opening is 58 cm. The heads are equipped with excellent balance and well-designed geometry of the rollers and knives. These details help and speed up the picking of trees, either standing or laying on the ground, either vertically or from bundles lying on the ground. The head is also well suited to the processing on landing.
Additional accessories include the proCon, hydCon and Eucapro features as well as color marking device, automatic chain tightener as well as stump treatment device. The 25RH-II models can be equipped also for productive biomass harvesting with the unique KESLA proAX-cutting system and multi-stem functions.
KESLA 25RH-II models are best suited to 12-20 tonne base machines.

Frames of KESLA heads (16, 18, 20, 25RH) are welded of steel plates to form a rigid one-piece construction. No bolted joints are used in the frames. The construction is light but extremely durable, thanks to the simple design and use of high-strength steel. Pivots are finally machined after welding, axles and bushings are perfectly aligned and exactly in the correct dimensions.
With a KESLA head you will get the market’s best two-roller drive with unbeatable features: With only two feeding motors the construction of the head is simple, which results in excellent power-to-weight ratio and serviceability. Two motors mean also minimized flow resistance in hydraulics, meaning higher feeding speed and force with less fuel. However, thanks to the ingenious roller links with variable roller angle (the rollers carry the weight of large-diameter trees to maximize grip while smaller trees are clamped between the rollers to minimize friction) and hydraulic anti-slip system, we don’t compromise in grip and traction force. KESLA color marking equipment helps forwarder driver to recognize different log assortments. Highly visible color stripes at the top end of log will be noticed in all working conditions. With two colors you can make three different codes.
KESLA stump treatment equipment is to be connected to the stump treatment system (not included) mounted to the base machine. The urea or fungus liquid is sprayed from the nozzles in saw bar (special saw bar is required).
Feeding roller guards are available to all KESLA roller heads from models 18RH-II to 25RH-II. The strong guards protect the rollers against hits to tracks, rocks etc. Thanks to their sleek design the guards don’t cause any harm when picking trees from ground or a pile.
The KESLA proAX cutting knife revolutionizes cutting of small trees.
When harvesting small trees, number of cuts to be done with a chain saw is very high compared to volume of timber produced. Furthermore, risk of damaging chain or guide bar is high when cutting very small trees or bushes. This means high costs for saw chains and bars, lots of energy loss and high time consumption
The KESLA top saw is a complete unit to be installed at the place of fixed upper delimbing knife of the head. It’s equipped with a Parker F11-10 (10cc) saw motor, manual chain tensioner and 18” guide bar.
The KESLA spare parts set is a carefully considered set of consumables and spare parts that should be easily available to minimize down-time in case of possible failure.
The spare hose BASIC kit contains a complete set of replacement hoses for a head with standard equipment.
The spare hose EXTRA kit is an additional set of replacement hoses for heads with accessories like color marking, KESLA hydCON etc.
KESLA special tool set includes some special tools to make service and repair of a KESLA head even easier.
Stroke harvester suits also onto smaller basemachines, like diggers, which hydraulic oil flow would not be high enough for roller heads. Even with relatively low oil flow, stroke feed creats feed efficient enough to cut and delimber relatively big tree trunks. The product itself is produced of the same high quality materials than the roller heads. The measuring device is a part of standard delivery and equivalent to that of roller heads. The SH-heads are very widely used throughout the world.
Depending on the harvester head model, the new saw unit utilises a 34cc or 40cc Sunfab motor and 22-tooth drive wheel that enable a sufficient chain speed to be reached at approximately 5,500 rpm. The low-rpm, high-capacity motor is much more durable in use than traditional solutions and operates at much better efficiency. In practice, this manifests itself as better sawing power and lower fuel consumption.
In addition to the fuel savings, the technical solutions of the R5500 saw unit result in lower operating and maintenance costs: The saw unit utilises wide Iggesund JW-series saw bars, whose life span is many times that of traditional bars. The robust and wide saw bar bends and vibrates less, which, together with an efficient tensioner, ensures that the chain stays on in all sawing situations. The new double-sided and balanced drive wheel is designed to last for the entire service life of the harvester head.
The JPS R5500 is a compact package that does not require external saw cylinders or position sensors. The saw bar motion is driven by a turning mechanism integrated into the unit, which also includes sensors that detect the position of the saw.
According to the studies, it also produces substantially less cutting-induced crack than its traditional counterparts.
