Kesla from eastern Finland will present its wide range of cranes at the Finnmetko trade fair. The largest new addition is a completely revamped high seat. In addition to the high seat, Kesla will introduce the KESLA proC i electric control system.
Redesigned high seat for timber cranes
Kesla will introduce a redesigned high seat for timber handling cranes at its booth 30/36 at the Finnmetko trade fair. The high seat will be made available for all KESLA timber handling cranes by the end of 2024. The frame, guard rails, seat and electrical equipment of the high seat have been completely redesigned.
The new, comfortable seat (Seat US20 HD PVC) is equipped with a high back, armrests, adjustable suspension, a seat warmer and, naturally, an OPS switch and seat belt. A motorised seat folding system for easy transport is available as an accessory.
The cables and hoses are well protected under the seat or inside the structures.
For added safety, the seat has steps with a roughened surface and guard rails.
The high seat is black by default, but it can be customised to any RAL colour as an accessory.
New electric control system enters the market
A new electric control system is now available for KESLA cranes: KESLA proC i classic. The new system allows two different sets of settings to be saved for five different operators. The system is available in Finnish, English, Swedish, German and French.
The user interface works on a large touch screen. The operator can access all main functions, such as crane controls and current regulation, through the user interface. The system supports remote control.
A separate control panel for controlling certain functions during crane operation is available as an accessory. These functions include the control of bunks and the rack.
Like the previous KESLA proC control system, proC i also has four different electric control methods: two mini joysticks, two maxi joysticks, two maxi joysticks with pedals or four levers with pedals. The system comes with the optional control method quick change, KESLA Quick, which allows the operator to switch between different control methods flexibly.
The control system will be released for sale at Finnmetko and it will gradually replace the previous electric control system KESLA proC.
Crane with hydraulic pilot control also on display
Kesla will also introduce a crane with hydraulic pilot control at the trade fair. The control system is currently being tested on multiple cranes. The hydraulic pilot control system is lighter to use than a mechanical control system and significantly more affordable than an electric one. The testing phase will be completed by the end of the year, after which the control system will enter the market for selected crane models.
