Kesla Oyj, one of the leading independent harvester head producers presents several renewals and updates for its RH-head range. The renewals aim for improved efficiency and serviceability.
- Our Generation-II of RH harvester head range, launched in 2014, is widely known as very competitive and realiable range of products. Latest smaller renewals and updates are mainly based on practical experience, to improve even further efficiency, serviceability and reliability, states Mika Tahvanainen, Marketing Director of Kesla.
- When it goes for quality, the goal is set very high and a lot of development work has been put into small, almost invisible details, manufacturability and documentation, which all ensure constant improvement of the product quality, Tahvanainen continues.
Rear delimbing knife as an option for KESLA 18RH-II head
The biggest visible renewal this year has been rear knife that has been added as an option for 18RH-II head, known as a real power pack for thinnings. Now 18RH-II with three moving delimbing knives is even more efficient in especially delimbing of heavily branched spruces. Thanks to the extra rear knife and its’ geometry, the head carries bigger tree trunks better, which improves feeding capacity and measurement accuracy.
The rear knife module is attached with bolts and it can therefore be installed also afterwards. Weight of the rear knife module is reasonable so even with three knives the KESLA 18RH-II is superior in its’ class when it goes to efficiency/weight-relation.
KESLA proLOG and xLOGGER- control & measuring systems
Another visible renewal is concentrating in KESLA proLOG and xLOGGER measuring devices. Due to active developing approach the devices are top class in accuracy, bucking and user-friendliness. The electric installations and wire harnesses have been renewed to get finished result and thereby more reliability and serviceability.
- In the renewal of electrics and cabin installation kit a lot of attention has been payed to easiness of installation and to finished end-result, both of which are especially valued by many export clients, says Tahvanainen. – Model specific installation kits for excavators will ease up the installation, minimize installation time and standardize the end-result.
In length measuring system Kesla has changed to contactless magnetic sensors, that has increased accuracy and decreased disruption and interruptions of work.
JPS R5500-saw available as an option to all RH-II and SH-II heads
The JPS R5500 saw that has gained a lot of praising comments from its’ users is now available as an accessory for the whole KESLA RH-II roller head and SH-II stroke head ranges. The slewing system and the sensors are practically maintenance-free and fully closed structure without external moving parts prevents problems caused by ice, sawdust or branch blockages. Due to the improved hydraulics of the head the oil flow to the saw is better and more controlled, which especially with JPS saw remarkably improves fuel economy and efficiency of the saw.
KESLA-harvested head range is for display on the Kesla stands 60, 62 and 66 and on several cooperation partners’ stands at FinnMETKO exhibition.
