ELMIAWOOD: KESLA Chippers in full action on the Elmia

01.06.2017 ニュース

KESLA chippers are in full action on the Elmia Wood exhibition in Sweden in June on the stand 303. The both chippers, the tractor powered KESLA C645S-II and the truck powered KESLA C860, will be chipping several times a day, starting 10 am. The both chippers represent several innovations that Kesla has introduced into its’ chippers, such as proCHIPPER control system and as the most important, a new type of rotor named KESLA logCUT. The new rotor improves the chip quality and even productivity.

The new logCUT rotors of KESLA are available for all three chipper size classes; C645, C860 and C1060. Knives in the new rotor are straight-bladed. In the previous rotor model the knives were in spiral form or in the row. In this new rotor the knives are positioned whether in four segments (C860, C1060) or in spiral form. Amount of knives varies according to the rotor size, between 6 and 10 knives. Knife-holders are fastened with bolts but the knives are actually friction-locked. This enables quick change of a knife and minimizes amount of knife-breakages e.g. when hitting a stone. The open chip passages of the rotor transfers chips efficiently to the screen. The passage construction is patented as well as the lower knife-holder. Serviceability of the rotors is in top-class due to big amount of changeable parts and for example small rotor’s knives can be sharpened several times and turned around.

- Chip quality with the new rotor is excellent, tells chipper contractor of KESLA C645S-II Alvar Wärn. He updated his Kesla chipper in the beginning of this year.

The other chipper contractor on the exhibition with the truck version of KESLA C860, Kurt Häggman, agrees.

- Chip quality has been steady and excellent, he admits. - I have also noticed remarkable increase in productivity with the new rotor in my C860 chipper – from 180 cubic meters to 250 cubic meters. It can also be seen in the fuel comsumption per cubic meter.

Kesla brings to market its own electric control system for chippers

Kesla shows on the exhibition a new proCHIPPER chipper control system, developed by the company itself. It is based on the KESLA proC control system that company developed for cranes and loaders. Both the crane and chipper can be control by the proCHIPPER and it is available for both tractor-powered and truck-powered chippers. The system is used with a joystick and through touchscreen. In the system there are three different chipping modes ready. The chipping preset modes can be adjusted and saved individually for four operators.

New chute and chute slewing for smaller chippers

KESLA C645-product family has now got a new chute option, proCHUTE, which widens the working area relevantly. Also the transport position of the chute is lower and its serviceability is good. Slewing of the chute has also got some updates. Benefits are better slewing torque and accuracy. The blower of the C645-model is now equipped with separate wearpart kit. The kit prolongs the lifetime of the blower itself.

- The blowing is precise and even and the trajectory and the outreach of new chute is simply superb, confirms Wärn.

KESLA chipper range in full action

The KESLA-chippers C645S-II (tractor powered) and C860A (truck powered) are chipping on the stand 303 from Wed until Fri 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. On Saturday 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00.
