Agricultural machinery trade fair 365 online will award novelties on its website this exceptional year. A jury of agricultural journalists has selected gold and silver medalists among the new products entered in the competition for novelties. The jury has also issued honourable mentions.
The main criteria of the jury that judged the innovations in agricultural machinery have been the importance of the product for the agricultural sector, the impact on profitability and process, environmental friendliness, energy efficiency and the impact on workload and safety. The award-winning novelty product may also be a functionality that brings significant improvement to an existing product or service. The award panel for new products consisted of Veikko Niittymaa from Maaseudun Tulevaisuus, Eemeli Linna and Uolevi Oristo from Koneviesti magazine and Pentti Törmä from Käytännön Maamies. A total of almost 50 products were entered in the new product competition at the Agricultural Machinery Trade Fair.
Two gold medalists
The jury has chosen the MF 8S tractor series and the ELHO Scorpio 550 stone collector with a side conveyor as gold medalists.
The MF 8S tractor series is a new, long-body, efficient all-purpose tractor. The completely new cab has been isolated from the engine and the transmission line as thoroughly as possible, and the noise level in the cab has been reduced to 68 decibels. The cab’s forward-tilting windscreen allows better visibility to the front wheels and the front elevating gear. The new Dyna E-Power transmission is equipped with a dual clutch. Additional equipment, among others, are 205-liter ecohydraulics, with maximum output already reached at 1,650 rpms.
The jury welcomed the separation of the cab and the engine and low noise, the new engine cooling solution, dual-clutch gear and the versatility of the hydraulics.
The ELHO Scorpio 550 side conveyor has a stone collector that loads the stones directly onto the trailer with the side conveyor instead of into its own tank. Work efficiency increases compared to a tipping model when collection is continuous. Thanks to efficient screening, less soil accumulates in the load than in tipping models. The side conveyor model is controlled hydraulically and the conveyors can be reversed if they get stuck. During reversing, the centre conveyor slides into the service space, creating an opening between the conveyor and the collection rotor from which stuck stones can be safely unloaded onto the ground. The machine measures the rotation resistance of the rotors and electronically adjusts the working depth accordingly.
The jury considered the new product to be innovative and believes it will be commercially successful.
The product is different from others in technology and process, and reducing the weight of the machine is a good thing. Six silver medalists Among the new machines, the silver-awarded products are the ELHO NK 10700 SF harvester, Kverneland FastBale bale wrapper, New Holland CH7.70 combine harvester, Sampo Rosenlew Comia C22 2Roto combine harvester, ThermoSeed steam picking method and Valtra G series tractors.
- ELHO NK 10700 SF harvester is equipped with transfer screws.
- Kverneland FastBale is a bale wrapper, which allows making bales non-stop.
- New Holland CH7.70 combine harvester combines traditional threshing technology and Twin Rotor technology.
- Sampo Rosenlew Comia C22 2 Roto is a hybrid drum harvester in which the knockers have been replaced by two rotors.
- In the ThermoSeed- steam picking method, the seed is treated with hot steam.
- Valtra G series tractors have easy-to-use and versatile transmission as well as efficient hydraulics.
Five honourable mentions In addition, the new products, the jury has awarded honourable mentions to the following products:

- KESLA 14RH harvester grapple
- KUHN VBP 3165 variable chamber bale wrapper with plastic binding
- Mepu dust extraction systems (Taifum and Storm)
- Väderstad Spirit 400C planting fertiliser
